Privacy policy
Homebrew Log is a free hobby project for keeping notes on home brews. This page explains what it stores, why, and what you can ask me to do with it.
If you don't sign in
Your brews and recipe library are saved in your own browser, using its local storage. They never reach my database, and clearing your browser data deletes them.
If you sign in with Google
Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with the site so it knows who you are.
Your brews, notes and recipe library are then saved to your account so you can use them on other devices. Any brews already in your browser are added to your account when you first sign in.
Visitor statistics
I count page visits and a few actions, such as adding a brew, using Eventfox, a statistics tool I run myself. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't store your IP address, and records only the country you're visiting from. It can't be used to identify you, and the figures aren't shared with anyone.
Cookies
The only cookies are the ones needed to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
The contact form
Messages are delivered by Formspree. I only use your email address to reply to you.
Who else handles your data
A few services are needed to run the site:
- Supabase, which stores account data and handles sign-in
- Google, for signing in
- Formspree, for the contact form
- The company that hosts the website
Your information is never sold or shared with advertisers.
Keeping it safe
I take reasonable care to protect what's stored, but no website can promise to be completely secure.
Age
Homebrew Log is only for people who are over the legal drinking age where they live.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data held about you, or ask for your account and everything in it to be deleted. Send a message through the contact pageand I'll sort it out.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change too. Carrying on using the site after that means you accept the new version.
